10th İstanbul Bilgi Pre-Moot
The 10th İstanbul Willem C. Vis Pre-Moot organized by BİLGİ Law Faculty with the support of Paksoy Law Firm, ICC YAF and ISTAC was held online on March 20-21, 2021.
The Istanbul Pre-Moot, which is organized annually and has celebrated its 10th anniversary this year, aims to prepare students who will participate in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot.
Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot’s goal is to raise the future’s leading lawyers resorting to alternative dispute resolution methods. Students participating in the Moot have the opportunity to work on a hypothetical dispute and to enhance their knowledge on international commercial law and international commercial arbitration.
Students competing in teams representing law faculties in different countries from all around the world gain first-hand experience on how an attorney handles a dispute on international commercial law through arbitration by applying their skills on a concrete case.
30 teams from 17 countries competed
30 teams from 17 countries competed in the 10th İstanbul Pre-Moot. More than 200 academics and arbitration practitioners arbitrated the proceedings.
Along with preparing students to Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot, the Istanbul Pre-Moot offered a webinar and several virtual events to bring together students and arbitrators.
28th Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot took place online between March 26 – April 1, 2021 in line with Covid-19 pandemic precautions.
